Port forwarding, also known as port mapping, is the process of forwarding the proxy IP extracted from the MaxProxy software to other devices within your local machine or LAN through device ports.
Note: When using port forwarding, the MaxProxy client must be running. If the MaxProxy client is closed, the proxy IPs configured in the port forwarding list will not be saved and must be reconfigured. Therefore, it is recommended to keep the MaxProxy client running while using the proxy IPs.
Currently, both dynamic and static IPs in the MaxProxy software can be used for port forwarding, and the proxy IPs forwarded through port forwarding only support the Socks5 protocol.
Port Forwarding Tutorial: Port forwarding is divided into: local port forwarding and LAN port forwarding.
Step 1: Obtain IP Dynamic IP obtaining tutorial: https://www.maxproxy.com/blog/tutorial/dynamic-ip-proxy Static IP obtaining tutorial: https://www.maxproxy.com/blog/tutorial/static-ip-proxy Step 2: Assign the obtained IP to the corresponding port number Click on the “Port Forwarding” icon in the proxy IP list. Select a port, for example, 6000, and assign the proxy IP to this port. (If you want to configure multiple ports, repeat steps 1 and 2, and allocate the next proxy IP to the 6001 port and so on.) Click the “OK” button.
You can view the assigned proxy IP on the Ports tab. S
tep 3: Input the extracted dynamic IP proxy into the corresponding software or tool. Local port forwarding: Proxy protocol: Socks5 IP address: 127.0.0.1 Port: Enter the corresponding port number, using 6000 as an example in this tutorial. Username and password: Not required to input.
LAN port forwarding:
- Use one computer as a server and install MaxProxy software on it. The other device must be within the same local area network (LAN), which means they should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network of the same router. (It is recommended to disable the firewall on the computer.)
- First, you need to obtain the local IP address of the computer within the LAN. In this tutorial, the local IP address is 192.168.181.1.
You can obtain the IP address by going to the Proxy tab in the MaxProxy software. There may be multiple IP addresses listed, but generally, you only need to input the first one.
- Enable the option to allow other machines on the local area network to access in the system settings. (It is usually enabled by default.)
- Forward the port to other devices within the local area network, as follows:
Proxy protocol: Socks5 IP address: Enter the local IP address of the computer where the MaxProxy software is installed. In this tutorial, the local IP address is 192.168.181.1. Port: Enter the corresponding port number, using 6000 as an example in this tutorial. Username and password: Not required to input.
If you need more ports, you can adjust the settings in the system settings.
To set a range for multiple port forwarding, for example, if you need to forward 20 ports, set it as follows: 6000 – 6019.
